Delinquency

And so I was assigned to be a substitute teacher to the class 2R for one day, as their form teacher met with a minor incident, or so the dean says.

“It’s okay,” I tried to calm myself down. 2R was one of the most notorious class in terms of class behaviour, and my mind was drifting to random thoughts about the students in street-gangsta gear, messing with the classroom.

Shaking my head in an attempt to release myself from such imagination, I walked into the classroom.

“Good morning class. Your teacher, Mrs. Tsuang, sprained her ankle and had to be sent to the hospital. Hence, I will be…”

I was subsequently rudely interrupted by this student.

“Yeah yeah we know, just get on with the attendance marking.” Finishing his point, he propped both of his legs on the table.

I smiled weakly and proceeded to mark the attendence list.

Peering at the sticky-note stuck on my folder, I continued with the instructions laid down by the form teacher.

“Ok, have you all read Chapter 2 of Esplanade Chee?” I asked, “Can anyone tell me the setting and general plot for this chapter?”

That student interrupted again.

“Seriously! Nobody reads, LOL. We all just go LAN shops after school, noob.”

I was getting slightly annoyed.

“If you have nothing constructive to say, would you please give others a chance to speak?” I tried to recitify the situation.

“Lol whut?” Another rude remark. “This is freedom of speech, retard!”

I briskly walked up to the student, whose legs were still on the table.

“What now, eh?” the student – wait, I don’t really think he’s that much of a student now -  smirked in my face and said mockingly, “you gonna suppress me? Hay look everyone, I’m being suppressed!”

What happened after that, I couldn’t really remember. However, I believe that I am innocent of the assault charges, Your Honour.
